Sorry to all! Updated pics coming soon!

Hello to all. We have been so busy in this Roberts household. The babies are growing every day and are getting cuter (if you can imagine that) as they chub up! :) I love kissing their cheeks and necks and heads. I think it drives Eric crazy! Thats what moms do though. I thought that this stay at home thing meant i would have time to do whatever i wanted. oh boy was i wrong. The kids wake up at 8:30 for their final feeding when mom is ready to get up. I end up feeding the both of them until about 10 ish. (this includes getting the sleepy heads to wake up enough to eat, changing their diapers, and clothes, etc.) Then i eat breakfast and hope the kids stay asleep long enough for me to shower. By this time it is nearing 1 pm. Then i wake up the kids so they can eat again for 2 hours. I try to be productive at the same time. You know, making calls to bill collectors, trying to get previous employers to call me back and all of this while taking a nap. My point in all of this is that I quit a full time job I loved for a fuller time job i love even more. Busy is an understatement and at the same time at the end of the day, i wonder what i've accomplished. Maybe i'll keep a list!..... Kids are crying, time to eat! I promise when Eric gets home tonight or tomorrow or the next day or sometime in the near future, i will post pics of our growing babies! 1 month old already!!! I can't......;)

More pictures

We were finally able to put them in the same crib and they made themselves right at home like they had never left the womb.
This is our money-shot.

He looks like a natural.

New Pictures and Good News!

We found out today that Boyd and Brynlee get to come home THIS Thursday! That will be 1 day before they are 36 weeks along. They have doing very well and the doctors decided they might as well come home to sleep and eat. Sara has been spending the night at the hospital all week so she can feed them 6 times a day, and this Tuesday and Wednesday night she will feed them around the clock while they actually stay in a room with her. In the biz it's called a "stay-in" . We've had visits from Grandpa Steve and Grandma Roberts last week and expect Grandma Gwen in a few days. They finally lost the feeding tubes because they are nursing so many times a day and they only have the little wires to keep an eye on their heart and oxygen.

Boyd was pretty cool with it though.

Since August 25th.....

thank you Jeannine, Mom and Gibson fam for the beautiful flowers!

Hello to all and thank you so much for your nice comments. We have had a busy, crazy life for the past few days and i have a feeling we have just hit the beginning. We have had the opportunity to hold our babies twice a day since they were born. I think that will be expanded in a few days. We go in at 8 am and 8 pm to hold them for pretty much as long as we want. I love this time! I was discharged from the hospital on August 29th and I thought this would be the hardest day of all. I had uncontrollable crying that whole day and the night before. How was I supposed to leave my kids at the hospital and come home with an empty belly? Well it came time to come home and I did just fine. I kept telling myself that we were just leaving them with the baby sitter so I could get some rest. that worked for a little while. Then I realized that they are getting the care that they need and while I am their mother and feel like I should be caring for them more, they need more than i can give them right now. It has been such a joy going to see them and spending so much time holding them and getting to know them. It has only been one day away from them and i'm sure i'll fall upon harder days, but the nurses have been so nice and helpful and I can spend as much or as little time with them as i want. (who would want to spend little time?) Anyway, we have amazing friends and so many thoughtful people praying for us and leaving us nice comments. it is so nice to have a big support group, so for that, thank you so much. Now for the stuff everyone is really waiting for! Stats! Boyd is starving! He lost a little weight which is nothing to worry about. They are constantly upping the doses on how much they are able to eat. Boyd is starving and Brynlee is keeping up with him! Boyd was under the blue lights for a day. They removed the lights awhile after his labs improved and that made him happy. He has a low platelet count that they'll keep an eye on. the doctor doesn't seem one bit worried about it though. He weighed 4lbs 9oz as of saturday evening. I imagine that climbed up. Brynlee is growing as well. She lost a little weight and is now weighing in at 4lbs 5oz. she was having a small problem keeping her oxygen levels stable, but was never put on a machine and is now holding her own. We are so happy to have them here and growing stronger everyday. I am recovering nicely (although, sometimes it doesn't feel that way!) It will be a slow process, i'm sure, but i'm so happy right now it is sometimes hard to notice pain. I hope you all enjoy looking at the most adorable children ever

Early Delivery, Precious and Pure, Double Blessings...

We've had a busy week! To make a long story short Sara wasn't feeling well on Tuesday so we went into her doctor's office (where she has been working until last week) and they decided she needed to go over to Labor & Delivery to monitored. After 30 minutes they decided her b.p. was high enough that the babies were coming tonight. Our babies were born at 8:37 and :38 pm MDT at 32 1/2 weeks. As a preemptive strike Sara was given two steroid shots last week, so the doctor assured us they were well enough developed to enter the world. Boyd Eric was 4 lbs 12 oz, 18 3/4 inches. Brynlee Elizabeth (at least for now) was 4 lbs 6 oz, 16 1/2 inches. They both have a full head of hair, especially Brynlee who has Aunt SueAnn's hair so far.

We finally got to hold them Wednesday night for almost an hour. And yes, dads need to have skin-to-skin time too.

Sara will come this weekend and they babies will be in NICU for at least 3 or 4 weeks. They are doing VERY well for premies- thanks to superior genes, betamethasone, and lots of prayers.
