An example for us all....

I love this precious picture.  It is what helps me find gladness within the sadness of our beloved prophets passing.  He loved his wife beyond what some people in the world can even comprehend. He was the best example for us all in every aspect of his life.  He was humble and even knew that he had things he needed to work on.  For a man as perfect as he was in our eyes, to say he needed to be a little better each day, sure helps motivate me to get my priorities in line.  I am very grateful for the knowledge I have of the Plan of Salvation, which has comforted me at times in my life when nothing else could.  We take comfort in knowing that President Hinkley is now in the arms of his loving sweetheart, and His loving Father in Heaven.  May we all let the beautiful shining example of our dear, sweet, kind and loving prophet motivate us each to be a little better each day.

So looking at this picture you might think, "wow, it looks like a beautiful, sunny, 30 degree-ish winter day in Missoula!".........

FALSE!!

FACT!-  that says -2.4 degrees.  Looks are very deceiving.  There was also a windchill of -17 degrees.  I now know what it feels like for it to hurt when I breathe.  Yikes!  It did reach    -4 a little later and the high today was about 6!  So that was nice.  Right now at 9:21 it is -3!  Anyone want to come chill with us in Missoula?  (pun)

St George Vacation!

So, we had so much fun in St. George. We left Missoula with very cold weather and a skiff of snow on the ground. When we arrived in Las Vegas, we immediately shed our coats and rolled down the windows of our beautiful rented Dodge Caliber! It was beautiful! We were so glad to feel the warmth. In Vegas it started to rain. Eric said, "There are 4 days in the year in Southern Utah that it rains, and they are the 4 days we come!"  It was so nice. Some sun, some rain and on Sunday in Enterprise, there was a lot of snow! As you can tell from the pics, I love my nieces and nephews and definitely missed the ones that weren't there. I let Tasia take the camera and have some fun. Aside from a little fuzziness, she makes for a pretty good photographer. I was so glad to be able to make it to a dance class to see Tasia. I missed her performance, so it was fun to see her. As you can tell, I had a lot of fun with my favorite people ("my little chillins") as Eric refers to them. And I love to pretend to be their favorite aunt, even though I have quite a bit of competition! We miss everyone so much, and it will be nice to see everyone again soon. It is hard to get back into the swing of things, but we are there. Enjoy the pics!

Since the last entry was so long, I'll make this short. Luckily, I talked Eric into taking a break, eating dinner, and going for a quick walk by the icy river. He was kind enough to shower and get ready for the day also. These pics are of him starting out. He had no idea I was taking this picture. Then I snapped a pic of his picks for the bowl games. He also had no idea I took this pic of him sleeping. Either it's been a long day of games or the one he was watching wasn't that great! I'm also adding a picture of a mugshot that was in the bookings pictures at washeriff.net I love looking at all the people in washington county that get arrested. Read his shirt. It's a bit ironic if you ask me. Sorry if you know him!

Happy Whole New Year!!!

I'd say that pretty much sums it all up, right? If we wish a happy whole new year, that covers birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, 4th of July, Columbus day, man, i could go on forever! In all seriousness, I really do hope that this is the best 2008 for everyone ever! Reflecting back on the last year, a lot has happened. Not too much happened for us in the first couple months of the year, but as it progressed, so did the happenings. Eric applied to a few Pharmacy schools. We were invited down for an interview to Arizona. We were later notified that Eric had been placed on the waiting list for Arizona and Montana. As the next couple of months passed by, we knew we needed to move elsewhere even if Eric wasn't accepted to a program. So then came June. Eric surprised me one day at work with a thin white sheet of paper. "Congratulations, you have been accepted to the.........Pharmacy school in Missoula Montana! We were in! We took the necessary steps to move here. Called a few people, lined up an apartment and what not. So with the help of Eric's mom and my dad, we made it to Missoula. It was so ugly! It was fire season and the town was nothing but smoke. Well, I'm am so pleased to say that my opinions have changed. WE LOVE IT HERE! As we were unloading boxed from the truck, about 15 people from our ward showed up to help unpack us. We instantly had friends. There are 2 couples in our ward that are P1 students and 3 P1 couples that have become our greatest friends. Although we are far from family and our St. George homes, we have never felt more "at home." The weather is cold and beautiful. Fall was beautiful, winter snow is beautiful, and we are loving this area! Thanksgiving and Christmas were a little different for us. It was spent with friends only, who are now starting to feel like part of the family. Christmas Eve we had dinner at a friends house. They have 4 little kids, who helped bring back memories of my siblings and I on Christmas eve. Christmas day, eric and I had a modest little Christmas. It was fun. We drove to Big Fork (2 hours away) to see Eric's two sisters and their families. The highlight of our Christmas was probably being able to do the 12 days of Christmas for another family. It was exciting and fun. It also brought back some family memories of the times that we did that. So now, a whole year has come and gone and Dec. 31st again, was spent with friends, playing games and eating treats! (as if we didn't eat enough of those at Christmas) Yesterday, Eric reminded me of how many football games will be on January 1st. (today, which is why i have so much time to write this) I think there are 4 on at the same time right now! He is in the other room actually watching 4 bowl games right now. I think it is starting to take a toll on him. I better get in there and get him a fresh dew. He is losing his voice and getting thumb cramps. (it seems they forgot that warning on the remote!) He has informed me that his favorite sports writer stew mandel has actually written an article on how to watch 4 games playing at the same time. Eric is applying that knowledge right now. And so the new year begins as it should! Can't wait to see my family soon! 3 1/2 days and counting! XO
