ONE WHOLE YEAR!! (its been awhile)

So, wow! It has been a long time since my last post. Sorry to anyone still looking at my blog, which, by comments left and what not, i can tell it is slim. for my own personal record though, i apologize to myself for the lack in blogging. The babes celebrated their 1st birthday on August 25th, 2010. That day and the day before, my mind kept racing back to that same day a year earlier. All of the events, the way I felt, things that happened. I wanted to cry that it had all been a year ago, and yet, I was so happy that my babies, my dear, sweet, tiny babies had made it one whole year! I cannot explain in words and don't know that I ever will be able to explain the feeling I had when holding those babies for the first time. I didn't get to hold them for hours and hours after they were born. In fact, i believe it was almost a whole day before I got to hold them. I got to see them 5 or 6 hours after they were born and even that felt like an eternity. Pure joy. that is what that must feel like. I had never seen anything more precious than those two little ones i got to call mine. After 3 1/2 weeks of all the traveling back and forth to the hospital, all the nurses taking care of our babies, all of the business about our twins being the "stellar twins" (they got that nickname for how well they seemed to progress daily and how quickly they were ready to go home and grow!), and especially after the emotional roller coaster of watching my babies being hooked up to tube after tube and needle poke after needle poke, we were ready to bring them home....or so we thought. Those first few months were nothing less then a big ball of love, joy, excitement, and lets be honest, misery. I must have gotten 3 hours of sleep or less each night for many nights. about the same for Eric. what's worse is that he had school in the morning. When we brought the babies home, we had them sleep in two separate rubbermaid bins by my bed side. That lasted a whole hour. They were so loud when they slept and we couldn't sleep, so in their crib they went! Thank heavens for my wonderful friends, who even with babies of their own, came over to let me sleep, or shower, or brush my teeth, or made me dinner or lunch. I could not have survived those months without those very dear and loved people. I will never be able to express to them my love and gratitude for them. Okay, okay, back to the point. Boyd and Brynlee. they grew quickly and developed at the pace of a full term baby. Boyd began crawling at 9 months and Brynlee at 10 1/2 months. I think she knew how, she just would rather watch Boyd. Bryn got her first tooth at 6 months at Boyd near 7 months. They both chatter like crazy. Bryn loves to talk all the time. She loves to giggle and she has a smile that is contagious. Boyd is goofy. he knows how to make his sister and anyone else laugh. He is a mover. He crawls at the speed of light! or at least faster than i can keep up! Together they love to play tag. Bryn will make sure Boyd is chasing her and the she start crawling away and laughing so hard and Boyd chases as fast as he can and laughs all the while. It makes me smile just to write this. they love to talk with each other. and they love to play with what ever toy the other one is holding. This makes for a lot of fun! (insert sarcasm) Boyd knows how to wrestle with Bryn. He loves to sneak up behind her while she is crawling and wrap his arm around her neck and pull her down. We think it is cute, but it never had a happy ending. Poor girl is going to be tough when she is older! (if she survives) We had a small get together with some close friends for their birthday. Nothing fancy, but fun none the less. Eric wanted them to have a home made buttermilk chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for their birthdays, so that is what i made. We had a dinner and cupcakes with friends. Here are some fun pics! OOOHHH! updates too!

8 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day....(see counter above)

So these pics are obviously not all taken on this day. They are from events prior to 8 mo, 2 wks, and 1 day! Easter, warm weather, Spokane trip, eating...etc. These kids are so amazing and never cease to amaze us. I'm sure you all say that about your kids, and thats fine. I just know that my kids are AmAzInG! :) Right now they are sleeping through the night....most nights. They eat like they have hollow legs too! They are being moved into two separate cribs soon! (way too big to keep sharing)

Boyd:
Weighs nearly 20 lbs
On april 9th he was 28 inches (who knows now)
he loves carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, rice and oatmeal.
He hates peas, but we give them to him anyway. (it brings a smile to my face)
He eats bananas, apples, and pears as long as they are mixed in with the cereal. (i think its a texture thing)
He is obsessed with waving his hand. I don't think he has made the connection that it is a greeting, but he waves non stop at himself and all over!
He is all smiles, all the time! He laughs a lot and has just started yelling at things or people (which makes for a fun day at church!) It is mostly for attention.
He is very ticklish. (probably gets that from me)
He is not quite sitting up yet, but he is pretty close.
He can't quite crawl, but his bum is in the air and he is up on his arms. Make no mistake about this boy tho, he can get around! He rolls around and looks like an inch worm inching his way!
This kid loves to jump. we have a chair for him to jump in and once there, he does not stop moving. Super active, typical boy!
We love him so much and he makes us so happy!

Bryn:
Weighs about 18 1/2 lbs
on april 9th measured 26 1/2 inches
this girl loves all vegetables; peas, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, green beans
She loves all of the fruits but like boyd, they have to be mixed with her rice or oatmeal cereals. She, also like boyd, has a hollow leg. They eat non stop! Nursing, formula, solids. they eat!
Brynlee has waved at a few people. coincidence or not, you make the call. She can do it tho!
She has two front bottom teeth. We had no idea she even had her first one, (lucky us) but she was only a little fussy when the second came in. Yes, we are very lucky.
She smiles all the time. and loves to laugh. she is a big flirt. at church on sunday a 3 or 4 year old boy was looking at her and she wouldn't stop laughing at him. then today my friend came over with her two kids and her nearly 3 year old boy was jumping and she was laughing so hard! I was dying. I had never seen her laugh like that. what a flirt! and clearly just as easily entertained as her mom! :)
She hates to be on her tummy but daddy makes sure to keep her there until she does like it! She will roll on to her tummy and put up with it for only a little while. She can't crawl yet either but does just fine making her way around by rolling and turning all over!
she is sitting up. she loves to sit up as long as things are within her reach. she is so good at it too!
This girl has such a fun personality and never stops making us laugh and smile! We are so lucky she is ours!

okay, okay now on to the stuff every one wants! PICTURES!

bryn fresh out of the bath.....
Look at this beautiful boy, chillin in his chair
They wouldn't be our kids if they didn't have ESPN gear..
ready for the game!
The falls in Spokane at River front park
Boyd hanging out in our hotel room
bryn must have seen a fly! :) she loves her tongue
evening stroll down by the river
here is the stroll part :)
Easter best! we took the kids to the chapel to catch a session of conference.
Boyd is done with getting his picture taken. he wants his easter ham!
Check out those peepers! She looks ready for spring. too bad the warm weather is only now starting to arrive!
again with the peepers! She loves her food so much. and did you know that veggies make an excellent facial mask?
Bryn went for a walk with mom while the boys hung out. ready to roll with her shades. She got a lot of compliments that day!
Boyd giving us his very shy smile. He is a flirt and knows how to use that smile to his advantage!
This is what feeding your kids looks like when you sell your kitchen table before your new one arrives. We are glad it finally got here!
Boyd loves his toes almost as much as his veggies! :)
Oatmeal goatee
She can get anywhere!
You can't spell princess without ESPN! good point. Just exactly how her daddy likes watching the games too! ;)
Boyd is ready to go toss some pigskin! all in due time son.....
warm weather=time at the park with friends! family photo op
I couldn't help it. this is how he fell asleep........so cute
Loves to sit up in his swing.....will not sit back unless he is asleep!
again with the sitting up...kind of makes it hard to feed him. Bryn just wants her food.
Happy he is about to be fed! but usually this way anyway!
Big blue eyes! The only similarity between brother and sister!
Boyd was given a twix candy bar to play with. I thought to myself, "no teeth, wrapper is sealed, it makes noise, and it has something in it. this should keep him entertained!"
He managed to open the wrapper and suck all the chocolate off of the end of the candy bar. Then we caught him! That is determination. Must be his momma's boy!
Bryn and mommy hanging out on mothers day.
This mothers day was so fun and special for me. I enjoyed so much spending time with Eric and my two sweetest little (or not so little) babies. I love more than anything being a mom, but not just any mom, their mom. I was spoiled on sunday with a steak dinner complete with baked potato, large green salad, cooked carrots and a cherry cheesecake! all prepared for me by my wonderful husband. I love that guy! Thanks for making me feel loved and appreciated!
Hope you all enjoyed the load of pictures! and can't wait for my kids to actually meet my family members and some friends! see you all soon!

7 MONTHS OLD!!! (i'm a horrible mother!)

These pictures are from most recent to a month or two ago....i guess just since the last post. Picture overload and holy smokes they are 7 months old! I have no idea where time goes, but it really does fly! Boyd and Bryn are talking and laughing and smiling like crazy! they are the happiest babies ever! They sleep like champs and Brynlee wakes up smiling. They are eating solids now. Mostly oatmeal, but they never complain about eating peas or carrots. they both happen to be a fan of both! We love our little B&B so much!

Boyd and his beautiful big blue eyes after a nice warm bowl of oatmeal!
Bryn and her beautiful big blue eyes after a delicious meal!
I had to get their pic together. We decided it takes less effort to feed them without their clothes. :)
Boyd couldn't wait for dinner. He needed to start eating right away.
A nice warm day equals a nice walk in town with good friends. this is how we roll.
bryn soakin it up in the bath tub. they both enjoy sucking on wash cloths.
Pondering life just before her bath. or maybe she sees something she wants to eat!
Boyd is so excited to be taking his bath! Check out that million dollar smile!
Melts my heart every time.
bryn just hangin out in her bumbo!
What a stud. he's one tough guy.
Eric celebrated the big 3-0! We had family in town for the kids blessings. perfect timing!
The gathering
Boyd in his blessing outfit. What a handsome little man
Beautiful Brynlee in her blessing dress. Purely angelic
The first time we fed them cereal it didn't go over so well. By the end of this night, all of the cereal was on the dinosaur. Now they are eating like champs!
Brynlee decided rather than eat the cereal, she would take an oatmeal bath. Great beauty tip.
Cute outfits from Aunt sueann. We love them....and her.
Brynlee just hanging out in her cute outfit from uncle brian and aunt jen!
Boyd in his (or our) favorite John Deere gear! What a boy!
I can't get enough of these two! They change every day!
reading books has the same affect on Bryn as they do on her mom! :)
Boyd in his favorite "elmer fudd" hat!
Caught 'em both in a good mood and couldn't resist! The trickier thing would be to catch them both in a bad mood.
I hope it doesn't take another two months for our next updates! We'll work on that.
