thank you Jeannine, Mom and Gibson fam for the beautiful flowers!
Hello to all and thank you so much for your nice comments. We have had a busy, crazy life for the past few days and i have a feeling we have just hit the beginning. We have had the opportunity to hold our babies twice a day since they were born. I think that will be expanded in a few days. We go in at 8 am and 8 pm to hold them for pretty much as long as we want. I love this time! I was discharged from the hospital on August 29th and I thought this would be the hardest day of all. I had uncontrollable crying that whole day and the night before. How was I supposed to leave my kids at the hospital and come home with an empty belly? Well it came time to come home and I did just fine. I kept telling myself that we were just leaving them with the baby sitter so I could get some rest. that worked for a little while. Then I realized that they are getting the care that they need and while I am their mother and feel like I should be caring for them more, they need more than i can give them right now. It has been such a joy going to see them and spending so much time holding them and getting to know them. It has only been one day away from them and i'm sure i'll fall upon harder days, but the nurses have been so nice and helpful and I can spend as much or as little time with them as i want. (who would want to spend little time?) Anyway, we have amazing friends and so many thoughtful people praying for us and leaving us nice comments. it is so nice to have a big support group, so for that, thank you so much. Now for the stuff everyone is really waiting for! Stats! Boyd is starving! He lost a little weight which is nothing to worry about. They are constantly upping the doses on how much they are able to eat. Boyd is starving and Brynlee is keeping up with him! Boyd was under the blue lights for a day. They removed the lights awhile after his labs improved and that made him happy. He has a low platelet count that they'll keep an eye on. the doctor doesn't seem one bit worried about it though. He weighed 4lbs 9oz as of saturday evening. I imagine that climbed up. Brynlee is growing as well. She lost a little weight and is now weighing in at 4lbs 5oz. she was having a small problem keeping her oxygen levels stable, but was never put on a machine and is now holding her own. We are so happy to have them here and growing stronger everyday. I am recovering nicely (although, sometimes it doesn't feel that way!) It will be a slow process, i'm sure, but i'm so happy right now it is sometimes hard to notice pain. I hope you all enjoy looking at the most adorable children ever
Boyd just waking up for his morning rituals. (ie diaper change, feeding and vitals!)

Oh Sara congratulations, I am so excited for you guys. Chauntelle and I were talking about you probably right when you were in labor with them and we were wondering how you were doing. I love it. You are going to love being a mom and you will be so good at it. Enjoy the time to rest and recover because I am sure you won't get the opportunity once they are home. Love you.
Sara,
I bet you are one happy Mommy.
Born early...
and blessed that all is basically oK. just a bit more time to do growing on the outside they wished to do on the inside... but its all good.
Thank you for sharing the photos... what a special time.

That is so exciting for you all, cant wait to meet them! Forgive me for not coming up or over, I have allergies and am coughing and dont want to spread it to you!
Your pictures bring back so many memories! I am glad things are going well for you and your little family. As for the crying when you left the hospital, it is totally normal. I came home New Years Eve and my family took us to dinner and I cried the whole dinner and everyone in the resteraunt was staring at me. Do both babies share an incubator or do they have seperate ones? They are looking so great. Don't worry about them losing a little weight, as they say, two steps forward, one step back, that is the life of a premie! One more bit of advice, GET ALL YOUR SLEEP NOW! :)
They are so adorable. I think they have your nose Sara. But who knows, they change so much the first few months. They are looking great. I can't wait to meet them. My kids are very excited for you. They love looking at the pictures. Keep well rested and give them hugs and kisses from all of us. Let us know when you want to try and to the after-baby shower. Love you guys.
Sara,
I was so excited to see that the babies are here and doing so good (for premies anyway).
I got weepy reading your posts and catching up. It brought back SO many memories. The skin to skin pictures especially flooded back really great peaceful moments. We called it our "naked time".
We will keep you in our prayers, love you guys.
Callie
